MISSION CAPSULES: Rev. John Wyminga and Rev. Shannon Bell-Wyminga are ministers with the Nazko & Area Dakelh Outreach in the Cariboo region of B.C.. Shannon shares, "The ministry is about walking the long road with the people of Nazko and the surrounding area. More and more we realize that God is calling us to accompany people on the journey. We walk with them through the tragedies, the grief and the trauma that continue due to poverty, racism and the legacy of the past. We celebrate with them new births, milestones and treatment centre graduations. The power in Jesus' ministry was all about incarnation - God being present in real flesh. As we live that incarnation of Jesus' love, we trust that God's power will also be manifest as we walk the long walk to healing in our communities". Thank you for sharing this love and visition through all your support of Presbyterians Sharing ...

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 30th, 2016 - The Mennonite New Life Centre of Toronto, a community based settlement centre in our neighbourhood, is hosting a Welcome Home Benefit Concert at their Queen Street location. There will be two local Toronto artists for music, and food will be provided by Newcomer Kitchen, a non-profit organization that invites groups of Syrian refugee women to use slack time in a commercial kitchen to cook and sell traditional Syrian dishes.
We believe that in the face of the racist and anti-immigrant sentiments that have been expressed in Toronto recently - even in an area as socially progressive as the Beach - the Welcome Home Benefit Concert is a way for Torontonians to express their support for newcomers in a meaningful way.
